On this day in 1889, Vincent sent Theo the study for "Cypress and Wheatfields." He asked Theo to send the works on to his mother and sister Willemina. Even up until his mother's death in 1907 (17 years after his own death), Vincent's mother maintained that she thought his work was "ridiculous" (her word).
