Since I'm New, forum won't let me.

In Revival, *spoiler alert*,

Didn't understand the reference to an actor driving on wrong side of the road in Ireland, but quick Google search lead me to believe it is insinuating Matthew Broderick as I was shocked to discover killed a family or something in the 80s (had no idea until I read several news stories). Wouldn't this be sort of defamation if the actor ever happened to read something that's likely put behind him?

Ms. Mod will have a definitive answer for you, but personally I'd doubt defamation could be used if a) a person is not named and b) if the situation is fact-based. To be defamation (I'd thought) it would have to be an untruth?

Nope. Truth is truth, and whatever is reported in the papers is fair game. If Mr. King alone was accusing the actor (and named him) of being a drunk, or a wife beater or whatever, and the person being accused wanted to press libel charges, there could be legal issues, but that's not the case here.

Welcome!

I just read the book and don't remember that. Of course, often times, if it's not really relevant to the story (which it's not) I kinda mentally "gloss" over it. I did find myself wanting to skim over a lot of parts of this book, so, that sends a signal to me that either not one of the best, or maybe just not suited to my taste. But I think the subject matter was GREAT! Anyway....
