I do hope in the future the owners will keep track of their socks, or at least keep them out of reach.

I chuckled at this when I saw it on the news this morning (esp. since I heard that the dog is OK). My dog LOVES to grab socks - out of your shoes, off the bed or suitcase when you are trying to pack, etc. - however he doesn't eat them. He wants you to chase him. If you don't, he comes back with the sock dangling from his mouth to make sure you see him, then runs again. Packing is great fun at my house!
There's a joke in here about getting your dog fixed, but I will snip any reply I might have.
Pups have to make sure that you see em.. And that coming close and running away thing... arrrr... 
Maggie was all about the toilet paper. She could find it no matter how I tried to hide. And she was so pleased with herself showing before running away.

I had a wonderful junior prom night. Woke up the next day with my sisters Tobie dog all wrapped up in my gown! Tobers! what?? He was a big dog too... half german shep and half Doberman. Happy Happy he was. even had the shaw. and a big smile.

My Lab used to eat socks when he was little. 3 operations to remove them from his insides before he was 2!
We called him sock belly for awhile. Could've bought another car with the amount of money I had to fork over to the vet!
I suggested we install a zipper in his guts for easy access. Vet was not amused
He outgrew that, thankfully. Now he is a cranky old dog of 13!
