I went to high school with most of the parents. They were the jocks and cheerleaders. They drove expensive sports cars, and I was the kid with the hand me down wrangler jeans and adidas shoes, who still rode the bus. I remember a group of boys who made a bet at lunch one day to talk to me....I overheard the whole thing...even the part where one of them called me ugly.
Other than that, they didn't speak to me then, and I don't speak to them now.

I don't do any of those people's hair, Spidey......won't even try.

I decided to take the f**k 'em approach years ago......won't ever forget how they treated me, though.

I'm the favorite Mom among my daughter's friends, too, DiO!
You're a great parent!!! ♥
....my 40th Reunion is comping up in 2019, and the same douchewads that hung together then-still leech on to one another....who knew snobbishness was so symbiotic?....I was an outcast because I was big and heavy, Mom was a teacher etc., I literally have maybe one true friend from my entire time in that hormone instilled cesspool, and don't miss it a lick.....

No comment. I will say this though, if I ever hear "those are divine, I must have a pair," again it will be too soon.

made some deviled eggs earlier this morning and just had one with kahvi aiga, working at home today, catching up on my homework, building the barrier wall I mentioned in another post. been on a deviled eggs kick all summer long. have one more 6x6 post set, some framework on top, and i came in to take a break, remembered i had one call...oops, two calls to make, well, three. have one job set up as far as timing, need a hole dug next to a guy's foundation for a footing and four courses of block. these old mining houses, something else, everything from jacobsville sandstone to poor-rock/mine-rock. this other, customer wants another basement window blocked out with glass block. and yet another customer whose other is in poor health...copd, taking dialysis three times a week. and there is that curious pain that i best not think about. so...

Screw the parents... It's the kids that count!
You're a great parent!!! ♥
Not according to any of my kids growing up... except when they need money, or a ride somewhere, or a special favor. For all my daughters when they heard from their friends "I love your dad" it's like fingernails across a chalkboard to their ears. :)

My oldest recently went to her 20th high school reunion. She told me her friends from cheerleading reminisced about the hot chocolate I brought them at the cold football game halftimes.

With you on not missing HS. I wasn't an outcast, I just hated being stuck there. Felt like a prison sentence as I was not spending my time doing what I wanted to do or learning what I wanted to learn. Also hated the cliques. Wasn't really part of any particular one. Didn't give a flying you know what about what other people thought either.

Anyway, I have kept in touch with only a couple people from that time. I am godfather to one of my HS friend's sons. That's who I was visiting up in ME last weekend.

Another HS aquaintence works in the same department as me at work. Hadn't seen him in 25 yrs. until I started working there in January. We really weren't friends in HS but knew each other in passing. Small world.

My 25th reunion is coming up this year. Definitely will pass on that stupidity.

Working today. Office is a ghost town as most use Friday as their work at home day.

Will be doing some clean up around SwiftDog Manor this evening. Will work on assembling the Holey Board if it shows up today as scheduled. No homework to worry about for the next 8 weeks!

Might spend some time blowing things up in Star Wars Battlefront after I finish my domestic duties.

Now that I think of it, I hate cleaning! I think SwiftDog Manor might need a maid........
