Giant Hornets are Killing People!
"So it could all sound a tad hysterical, but the Asian giant hornets really do pose quite a threat. Chinese officials have reportedly advised the public to avoid walking through wooded areas in the Shaanxi province after 28 people have been killed and hundreds seriously injured by the hornets’ neurotoxin-carrying venom this year. With reports of individuals in remote areas being stung over 200 times, the venom can, in large doses, cause anaphylactic shock and renal failure." - Giant Hornets are Killing People and Eating Bees in China | Inhabitat - Sustainable Design Innovation, Eco Architecture, Green Building

I can't find online whether the above-pictured are actual insects, but I have found that they are not "Asian giant hornets", which are definitely real, have killed people in China, and appear thusly...Thank goodness those hornets aren't real!
I've had bees and hornets and wasps land on me. You just have to know that they're not out to sting you, but to sting prey or a threat. If you don't present yourself as prey or a threat, they'll pretty much leave you alone. The only time I've been stung by a bee is when I was walking around barefoot and unknowingly stepped on one. I knew it pretty quickly, though.
