I've had bees and hornets and wasps land on me. You just have to know that they're not out to sting you, but to sting prey or a threat. If you don't present yourself as prey or a threat, they'll pretty much leave you alone. The only time I've been stung by a bee is when I was walking around barefoot and unknowingly stepped on one. I knew it pretty quickly, though.
I'm surprised you didn't hear me from "over there" when I looked at that hornet pic!

I can't find online whether the above-pictured are actual insects, but I have found that they are not "Asian giant hornets", which are definitely real, have killed people in China, and appear thusly...Thank goodness those hornets aren't real!

I was watching an animal show once and those giant hornets attack and kill tons of regular bees everytime man.
