I really resent people who even consider there never was a holocaust, not to mention those who try to brainwash people about it. But perhaps I digress and should post such in a different thread.
I recall leaving the theatre after watching Schindler's List. I heard a comment from a young woman:
"So that was based on a true story?"
(Not sure if she was talking about the actual Holcaust or just the fact that Schindler actually saved some people).

The only movie I ever saw where there was stunned silence at the end.....you could here nothing but people crying and nobody moved out of their seats for a few moments.

Sometimes a movie based on a book makes me go buy the book, which was the case here. The book is excellent, and I must say the movie, is not only faithful to it but an excellent adaptation.

This is exactly why I read the book "Hannibal" (plus I think it is one of SK's recommended reads at the end of On Writing). As usual...book is soooooo much better than the movie! Even though Hopkins was brilliant as usual (fault was in the screenplay adaptation).

The thing about the book Hannibal is that, to me, it shows us that there are worse people out there than Dr. Lecter. I am referring to the snuff film makers- they were totally disgusting and more awful than Lecter could ever be.
