Nice job, DiO! You could probably take advantage of that exploitation of marketing products without licensing trend and make a bundle.
That's a joke. No, I would not actually encourage violating any licensing rights. ;)
Thanks.

LOL. I wouldn't do that... Too damn honest for my own good. :( We stopped selling them and only make them for family and friends these days. I would make the sets, put the base coat on and draw the stencils. My wife would do the painting. But she is such perfectionist and demands the artwork has two coats of paint, sometimes three. I figured out that after materials, calculating in my and ALL HER TIME painting them, we were only making about $.50 an hour. So we stopped. I once made a NASCAR set for some friends of ours. The face was a checkered flag, the NASCAR logo was at the top and the Ford logo was at the bottom. They're retired and go around to many NASCAR races every year in their RV and take the set along with them for people to play. They got on national TV with it one year at the Daytona 500.

You might appreciate this. We used to hand make and paint Bean Bag sets (the Pennsylvania Dutch variety, not those Bean Bag Toss kind). The standard face of my sets were with Hex signs. (But we also made sports team ones and clown faced ones... and my personal set has Pennywise on it).

Here were my Hex patters...

The picture on top is my current bean bag set and it’s over 12 years old. It was my very first design and served as the prototype... and it was just a quick rudimentary Pennywise drawing. But we never got around to replacing it. I made it with just a circular saw, jig saw, hammer and nails. I now use a table saw, router table, compound miter saw, brad nailer and 6” hole saw to make them. Also, the new ones now have cup holders on the back that take the place of the stabilizer arms. The artwork on the sets also has greatly improved since that first set.

The wife wanted me to make new Pennywise set this year, but I have yet to get around to it. At this point I'll probably just do it over winter. The bottom picture is the artwork for the new set, but still needs approval from “the boss.”

LOL. Thanks. I had charged $75 for the set which included 8 bean bags (2 colors) my wife made, that complemented the colors used in the designs, plus paper instructions. But it was "pick up only" because they were the best quality of any set you can get, and are quite heavy (made from MDF which gives them the proper bag slide and bounce), and ran about $20 a board to ship ($40 for the set). They were offered with Hex signs painted on the front, but every one of my family and friends wanted only custom made designs... Phillies, Eagles, Flyers, Yankees, Penn State, NASCAR, Air Force, Tar Heals, company logos, clown faces, etc. Someone once asked for a New England Patriots set and I turned them down ;). If I ever get to a kon I'll make a SKMB set up and use it as a door prize. (already know what it will look like.... The set will be black with a red circle boarding the hole, with Brian's SKMB logo (with Jake sitting on top) at the bottom of the set, "Stephen King" at the top, and written in red on the sides of the face will be a few of his one or two word novels.) :)

That's a pretty awesome idea. I one day hope to attend a kon as well.
