Howdy!

Here is a story story composed along the lines of the only writing exercise given in Stephen's book On Writing. It's called Edie

The exercise is to describe a situation without thinking about plot.

It worked! And was quite an eye opener for me. I've been stuggling with a historical novel I'm calling The Amarna Letter and the idea of plot has given me lots of headaches.

Now I'll just look at each event as a situation (basically what I had been doing all along).

If you enjoy it please drop me a line at

Sorry Jeff, but the link isn't working it is just taking us to a log-in page. Is it possible for you to log in, then open your story in another window and then copy the URL address of that window and post it here? (I'm not sure if this will make a difference or not.)

Edit: I am just going to change the title of your thread also to better reflect the thread content.

Thanks

I tried not to deviate (I like that word) too much from SK's writing assignment, stuck pretty tight to it. Are you familar with the assignment?
That was when I thought HE would possibly read it.
Twists are coming but it pretty much conforms to that assignment, not very original I know. I hope you felt interested enough to finish it, pretty sure you won't be disappointed
