In a WWIII scenario, I wouldn't have had to/need to worry about the aftermath, either. According to form, three nukes were targeted at different bits of Birmingham, which lies about 9 miles away, while tactical nukes were pointed at RAF Stafford (~35 miles away) and RAF Cosford (~15-20 miles), and Whittington Barracks (~6 miles).
Should the brown stuff hit the rotary thing, I'd be so many free-floating particles in a dust cloud.
I've got rather more chance of dying a slow, drawn-out death from Yellowstone - or any of the supervolcanoes come to that. But, given that it's already 15,000 years overdue and could easily go the same again before it spews, I won't worry until there's something concrete. (Though it's kind of interesting to speculate on, objectively.)
