Just finished "Edge of Eternity" by Ken Follet. Although extremely good and informative - I love the cold war era in a politics perspective - it suffered from diarrhea of the word processor and I found my self skipping through the pointless scenes. If you want to write an epic, at least understand what you can cut out.
For history buffs and people who want to know more about what led to all those political dilemma in the 60's and 80's, this book's for you. But don't feel bad if you skip 200,300 pages...
