I'm so sorry about your mom, but also glad that she is in a good phase. It's amazing how life adjusts our expectations, isn't it?Hi all, so good to hear from those who have been away for a while.
As Spidey told you Mom is now in a nursing home near us and is doing better than ever expected. She has turned the corner with her dementia moving from the rage and despair phase and is now laughing and being a social butterfly. It's better than we ever hoped for. What a strange world this is though. A year ago we would have been devastated if anyone had told us she would be where and who she is today. But after the pain and agony she went through this phase seems like the best miracle of all. She actually belly laughs at things and it makes your heart break and fill with joy at the same time. I do realize how lucky we are. When we leave and tell her we'll be back to visit later she says "ok" with a big smile and says "I'm going to go see if they started bingo yet. I want to win that cow beanie bag." Hugs and kisses you and off she goes. It's not like that with everyone there.
My hip replacement has gone well even though I had a few glitches here and there. The tape they used to hold the dressing in place ate into my skin and when it was removed, well, so were a couple layers of skin. Then I had a few days of excruciating muscle spasms in the thigh of the replacement. That was also pretty nasty but now those things are better and I can see I will eventually actually be better!
The past few months with Mom's agony and despair and my rapid hip decline many times made me think I was living a real King horror story. Just one of the reasons I love his writing so much. He knows and writes about the one true horror that none of us can escape from, life. But he also writes about the one true joy we don't want to escape from, life.
Take care all. Hopefully I'll have some time now to catch up on everyone and everything I've missed.
Haven't heard anything, I hope he is okay...Anyone know where Kingzepplin is?
Mostly. Looking for work again (long story), so that blows ... but my marriage, which I thought was dead and almost buried, is pretty healthy these days. So. Who knew?
Anyone know where Kingzepplin is?
He answered my PM a couple days ago. It is not my place to share anything, and I hope I'm not overstepping by asking everyone to keep him and his family in your prayers.Haven't heard anything, I hope he is okay...
