Yes, that's a good example of what I mean."Slave Market with the Disappearing Bust of Voltaire" by S. Dali
What are some of your Dali favorites? He was a prolific genius who doesn't get the recognition, or respect, that he deserves.
I made a site as a public service. (I don't receive a penny for it.) I don't check in to see it much. I just went there and noticed that it had 40,000 views. What are some of your Dali favorites?
Donald, this site is very comprehensive and impressive. I will tag Moderator to make sure it can stay here (as it does pertain to the topic at hand, but it is also a personal web site.) Anyway, I used some of my favorite Dali paintings on Ovid's "The Metamorphosis," as well as the chapter illustrations he made for the text. He consider those images for "The Divine Comedy" (there's one per chapter) to be his best works. They are in terms of being a part of a comprehensive project. Here's the link--

There are nine. I spotted all of them. That would be an interesting game--to spot items like that. I don't know why I caught them so fast, but I did. A minute and a half.
Not Dali, but another example of pareidolia which can be found in many of Dali's works.
Supposedly there are nine images of people in this painting.
Yet another example of his brilliance. Balance, movement, rhythm, specific points of interest, and color choice.
SUBURBS OF A PARANOIC CITY
We're fortunate that we have Google Art Project at hand. Otherwise, we wouldn't have access to the catalogues of these great men.

I've been getting the images I've been posting from Facebook. I've been a big fan since 1968 or so, yet at least a third of them I've never seen before. Dali was very prolific.Yet another example of his brilliance. Balance, movement, rhythm, specific points of interest, and color choice.
I've never even seen this one before.
Picasso got all the acclaim. But I never connected with his work, except for a few. Dali and Jim Morrison were two of the more interesting artists of the twentieth century. It would have been interesting to listen to a conversation between them, at least one in which Jim was sober. He could be a very likable guy when he wasn't drunk.I've been getting the images I've been posting from Facebook.
