I just read this passage in FK and it blows me away!
"For readers, one of life's most electrifying discoveries is that they are readers- not just capable of doing it, (very minor spoiler left out), but in love with it. Hopelessly. Head over heels. The first book that does this is never forgotten, and each page seems to bring fresh revelation, one that burns and exalts: Yes! That's how it is! Yes! I saw that, too! And, of course, That's what I think! That's what I feel!"
For me that book was Dracula! I was just describing Don Robertson's books to some members in another thread and was relating to the moment when this happened to Steve while reading one of Don's books. In it Don is describing the sound of a banjo being played 'plink!' and that's when it hit Steve that this is how writing works! Major cool!
