Mom always makes "old-fashioned" fudge at Christmas. I'm beginning to wonder if it is an acquired taste because not many will eat it. It is not creamy like you would think of fudge, it is hard, dry and has a different taste....but I love it!
My mother always used to make peanut butter fudge. No chocolate involved--yummmmmm.
I can't pick - there's sooooo many goodies here in the office right now. The cranberry orange bread is good, but the cookies and cream HOMEMADE truffles....sigh.... and someone brought us some fresh baked garlic bread with roasted garlic cloves in the bread - not just a schmear of garlic butter - oh - my - gosh - it was good.
Please - just start driving - there's many stops you'll need to make.
The Christmas goodie I am looking forward to the most is Sleep-Ins...oh lordy yes, and not just one! Days on end of not getting up to the alarm. My kiddo is away for a week from boxing day till the 2nd of Jan, before we go on a trip around the North Island...and tucked away in that week are multiple sleep-ins. Oh happy is me!

The one she used had creamy peanut butter, marshmallow fluff, butter, and vanilla, and probably a lot of sugar if I remember correctly. It's been a while since I made it.
Has anyone had tablet? It's a firm, white-fudgey candy, as well. I just learned the proper name a couple of years ago--we just called it Granny's fudge. Had no idea it was Scottish (or that nationality was in Granny's background). Have never been able to make it properly, and my Scottish connection is unavailable *sigh* I love that stuff.
Meat. Baileys. Champers. Spending time with my dear family. I don't eat them though.
