I need a cookie.
I went shopping for prom today. One of the benefits of living with someone in the school system is that we chaperone prom every year. I get to play dress up. And, since becoming the incredible shrinking woman, I've had a lot more fun finding dresses. I recently bought a couple of dresses, one a sparkly light blue-grey and the other a simple little black dress. I posted the pictures. I'm thinking I'll go with the little black dress. But
since I had surgery and lost all this weight, I'm skinny as a bone, but I have a lot of loose skin. Not pretty under clingy, pretty dresses. So
I needed to go shopping for some form of body shaper. Girdle, spanx, whatever. I had to settle for control top panty hose because that's all I could find in a small. I thought it was irritating trying to find clothes that fit when I was big. I never thought I'd have so much trouble finding clothes for a small.
There's one brand of hosiery by a company called "Just my size" for big girls. My Tall Guy was with me, trooper that he is, so I asked him, "Sure, but what about Just MY size?" It's frustrating that I'm having such a hard time finding clothes in my size. I never thought that would be a problem.
I think I'm all set, though. Got the little black dress, a pink pearl and chain necklace for a splash of color, hosiery, and flip-flops - pretty plastic clear ones with a pale lavender flower, not the .99 cent cheap-o kind. All I need to do now is figure out what to do with my frizzy mop of hair. Since I cut it short, it's kinky-curly and pure frizz. I'm talking Einstein hair, only sticking straight UP.
Meh. I'll think of something.
