Regarding Walker Stalker Cons-My coworker went with her daughter when they were Chicago. She said it was fun, but bring your wallet. The stars were charging like $25 dollars for autograph. Much more, if was series regular. Plus, the photos were much more.
I've been to a lot of other cons but not a Walker Stalker. In a way I'm glad they did this because I've met quite a few of the WD people and to be honest they're hurting the regular convention scene. I don't know if the entire cast has the same management team but this group has been the first to bring prices up considerably. They started charging more than normal for autographs and others have since followed suit because why not? They're taking a "if they can do it so can we approach" Not all, but some. I bypassed some of the "minor" characters such as Eugene, Bob, and Tara. Alanna Masterson was charging 10 bucks at a con just to talk to her. I wasn't at that particular one but a friend sent me a picture of her table sign and I laughed. THAT is insanity right there. Norman Reedus is charging 80 bucks a pop right now and you can't take a picture with him at the table so you have to spring for a pro photo op as well. I met him back in 2011 before he became the rock star that he is now and he was charging 20 bucks for auto and he hung out in the bar on Thursday night before the convention started on Friday and talked and played around. I have a great bar picture with him. There's no way he could do that now. I will say of the ones I've met all were nice and down to earth and fan appreciative. With the exception of a couple.
As for Walker Stalker, like Arista said, bring a hefty wallet. From experience I would guesstimate $30-$40 per auto for minor players and $50 and above for major. Forwarning:they may charge extra for a picture at their table as well. Some may not do table pics so if you want a picture you'll be paying for a pro photo op as well. If you go and can meet Scott Wilson, do it. He's an awesomely friendly guy. The only one now that I would love to meet and haven't yet is Melissa McBride. I want to get her on my Mist poster!
True, if you go I hope you have a wonderful time. My coworker said that it was good to see the stars and experience others dressed up like the characters.
"How come Barbie never got pregnant, Coral?"
Sadly I could only see the first Rick joke, then the page froze....
TrueG, totally envy your Supernatural Connage... bloody cool.... fans, fun, and ghostly, ghastly carnage....
I watched a couple of their Q&A's on Youtube.... there are a number of them there...
If you go True, let us know and have a great time! Since this is a WD-centric con the rules may be different as far as pricing and charging a little extra for table pics. Not all of them do that this is just what I've experienced the past few times at various other cons but not Walker Stalker as I haven't been to one of those. Like Arista said it would be fun to see the cos play and almost everyone I met was nice. I would hush hush say to avoid Emily Kinney and Lauren Cohan if they're going to be thereThank you so much arista and misery chastain loves co. for the information! I really appreciate it!
misery chastain loves co. I'm really shocked that some of them charge to take a photo at the autograph table!!
I've been to two Supernatural conventions (these were hosted by Creation Entertainment), and yes, autographs and photo ops there are soooooooo expensive! But I've had really good experiences there; the actors are super friendly and appreciative of the fans, as well, and will take the time to talk to you! I guess each convention is different! But, I will keep looking into Walker Stalker!
