Flake,

Thanks for taking the time to post this. I feel I need to be clear that I don't have issues with anyone on here. I've not said or implied anything derogatory toward anyone here. Ever. Most of what I do on here is in jest/fun. (Unless it's a serious topic discussion)

Second, if anyone has issues with me, I'm confused as to why they would not take it up with me privately in a PM.
Doesn't that seem the most mature / adult way to handle it? Instead, I feel like there has been a unified effort to publicly "trash" me in an indirect way through (as you said) innuendo etc. So be it. I (personally) don't have a problem with that.

Regarding the "taking over of the threads" part - I don't think I am, but, I do post a lot - 50% in the games and 50% either in threads I have created or a few here and there I feel compelled to comment on. I think if you look at my content (meaning potentially offensive - suggestive, language etc.) against what the rest of the Members on here post, it's no different. You are just getting complaints about mine. I'm rarely here in the evenings or on the weekends so it's not like I'm "ever present" (which should not be an issue anyway...)

That being said, this is SK's board, and whatever he or whoever he empowers to run the board, says, goes.
I feel that if I'm within the rules of the board. Even so, recently, there was discussion of possibly closing down Hot Topics, I stopped going there. I don't think I should HAVE to, but, out of respect for the people here and the board, I did.

I don't feel like I'm being disruptive, unless, standing up for myself is being disruptive. I also don't feel like I don't get along with anyone - they may not like me, but that is only one-way. If I sense someone doesn't like me, I do the opposite of provoking them -- I don't speak to them or reference them in any way. I just want to be left alone to post on here and enjoy the conversation etc. and, going forward I am asking if anyone has an issue with me to please send me a PM.

Thanks,
I don't believe it was a unified effort to publicly trash you, I think what has happened is that things may have been festering away with people for a while and it all just came to a head. For me personally, I had just gotten tired of the sniping in the threads, it was widespread... and I actually did feel like it was also coming from you. (But, yes, I had noticed that you'd backed off from some of those earlier issues, as you have mentioned.)

I suspect there may be some personality clashes at work and do hope that everybody will just choose to interact respectfully, or decide to use the "ignore" feature in future, because as Marsha has mentioned before, we have that option for just this reason.

Oh crap. I can't go to Maine for fear of the chainsaw and woodchipper. If I show my face in either of the Carolina's, Sunny has promised to kill me. If I go to Florida, Hoss will bore me to tears. And if I end up anywhere on the west coast Siggy will give me the "what for." This SKMB is really limiting my travel opportunities. :)
Oh pleeeeeaaaasssse.......do come visit the NC High Country......I'll be more than happy to show you the sights....including the Cascade Falls and the Linn Cove Viaduct.....:D

Thanks,

Yes, you have been playing "by the rules" which is what I have told anyone who has come to me because they had a problem with some of your posts and suggested that they avail themselves of the Ignore option if it was to the point that they did not want to come to the Board to read your posts. That said, even when it is not your intent as you have said several times, many things that you have posted come across very much as bordering on flaming behavior and it was very easy to read in a "tone" into the words. This was especially evident whenever your "just stating your opinion" had to do with religion and came across in a judgmental, I'm right because I have religion on my side and you are wrong if you don't agree with my interpretation of the Bible way. Again, whether you intended to come across that way or not the feeling was that you really were not trying to see others' sides of the matter, you were baiting people to state their opinion so that you could then quote your version of religion as the reason they were wrong. As for people coming to you in PMs, I can only speculate that they may not have been willing to do so because of their interactions with you in posts and thinking that there was little point in doing so because there is a bit of a chip on your shoulder about "this is my opinion, you don't have to agree with it, but I'm not going to change."

I'm saying this for everyones benefit--this Board has been going on for a very long time and built up a community of people who care about each other and hopefully we are all adult enough to realize that not everyone is going to get along 100% of the time for whatever the reason but creating even more negative discourse behind the scenes rather than bringing things out into the open and dealing with them or not taking it privately with the person involved if that's more appropriate is not the way we'll keep that positive community feeling going. And please respect ALL of the moderators, especially Dana Jean and FlakeNoir who are doing this completely on a volunteer basis and putting in extra time beyond what they might normally do to interact on the Board. It's a very tough line for all of us to be friends with the members and then have to put on our Moderator hats to deal with issues that come up and just because some members have been here nearly from the beginning does not mean that we can give preference to them over the new members if no one is breaking the rules. We all have control over how we respond to posts and do not have to allow any other person's irritations real or imagined to define how we interact with everyone else. I'm 100% in agreement with my fellow Mods that we have had our fill of the sniping and would like to bring things back to a more welcoming vibe for the Board. Let's try to clear the air and move forward so that people will have a positive feeling again about coming here.

I'm all for that. What made me enamoured in this board was its friendliness. Sniping and derogatory , even personal, remarks are not really a part of a healthy discussion. Why not let the arguments and discussions be just that instead of devolving into pubbrawls.
