I had to take LilMan to the dentist this morning (UNCAFFEINATED!), so I picked some up. Enjoying a bucketful right now

I'm REALLY not liking this board shut down on the weekends (though I don't begrudge the mods their time off at ALL). Sat/Sun, esp. evenings, are my best time to chat. Wonder if those so inclined (and who are on FB) would be interested in a closed FB group, just for chatting on weekends?

It's not difficult to register. I was a hold out or a long time, but then I had to have social media accounts (per my contract) and ended up making a personal account to keep up with family. Before that, they all followed my husband, and more of them still follow him than follow me--lol. He's the more social of the two of us

You can try. I had a pseudonym that FB finally caught up with and made me change to my real name. It didn't sound like a real name, though (Honestly Autumn). Now I'm bare-faced and real-named--lol. Same avi as here, though. hipmamajen and I follow each other, and she's one of my favorite people on there--just as funny as here, but with more pictures (lol).
I am on FB but never really go there. I don't know what a closed group is..

As I said from the beginning, the Board won't be closed on the weekends forever but entirely up to you whether you want to go that route.
Miss the Ka-Tet and SKMB on weekends, but feel that the Mods need their break. I've worked 7 day shifts before- it gets to you after awhile and it's been 2 years?? here for the Mods. I use the time to catch up on all the threads I can't read during the week. I still "chat" with friends via profile page or PM.
Have always say- the SKMB is a lesson in patience- waiting for new books, now waiting for an open weekend. It will come, eventually. Maybe even an ease into the return-- like one week one, next closed. For now, I am content to read on weekends.

I, not thinking, never realized that Flake and Deej and whomever have voluntarily modded the last 2 1/2 years, seven days a week; that's seven days a week for 2 1/2 years. Let's let that sink in a minute, if we can handle it. I know I couldn't do it, especially if I had a life. So, I say the Board can have an indefinite period of time off of weekends since I safely assume that Flake and Deej and whomever else more than need and deserve the time and space.

Thank you. I appreciate that you did stop to think about this. Flake and I are here because we love this board, and we love being able to help. We have worked very well together all these years, and we use our voices and talk things out and compromise and support and help each other every day. I have things going, Flake steps up. She has things going, I step up. This system has worked very well.
We just got tired. So thank you to everyone for being patient and letting us have a little time.
