Grandma loves Fritos. The descendants love Fritos. And they are as purists with those as I am with my coffee. No ranch, no barbecue, no special taco seasoning, nothing like that. Just Fritos.
I'm a heretic. I have to eat these on the sly, and when I do, I can't tell them about it later. SSSsssshhhhhhh.... they really have no idea.
Fritos are corn's way of letting you know it likes you. Gimme them plain big Scoop ones wif a bucket of bean dip--and step back.
When we had a German exchange student stay with us, she got a real kick out of these things when we had corn on the cob, as she never saw anything like them before. We got her a set to take back home.
She sorta had the same feeling about it, so I had to explain the difference between sweet corn and cow corn, as sweet corn is bred to include a high level of natural sugar. She enjoyed it.My ex brother-in-law was new to the country. He was taken aback that we even ate corn on the cob. Said that it was pig food.
I'm a pig when I eat corn.....
