I don't think I'll be able to attend.Oh hells no.
Tell them you're bringing ketchup packets from f-ing McDonald's.
No! How weird and tacky. If you can't afford the reception, don't have one.I received a wedding invitation for a friend's son today.
There was an odd notation on the RSVP card.......have you ever been invited to a wedding and also asked to bring side dishes for the reception?
Three this morning, then who knows how far this evening--that walk is just by time (50 mins tonight) because I have the son and the dogs. I think I need new shoes if I mean to keep this up, and I doThose three miles? I've heard that people in the mountainous west are in better shape because of the elevation while walking. It's like putting the treadmill on incline. Which reminds me, I have to pull out mine from under the bed. Blow off the dust, lol.
Bet you can't wait to sink your teeth into one of Ms Mod's Shoofly Mud Pies. Better have plenty of toothpicks to get the blackflies out of your teeth.Sent out wedding invitations yesterday..........can't wait to eat all the food the guests bring to the reception.
Just think.......if you invited 250 guests, about half will show up.....that's a lot of leftovers!Sent out wedding invitations yesterday..........can't wait to eat all the food the guests bring to the reception.

Don't be so sure....... I've decided not to attend that particular wedding at all. With that many invited I'm also just about guaranteed to get both white and red potato salads.......oh my.
Beer and a Benedryl? I've done the Epsom salts in a bath trick - it's great to help you relax - all that lovely warm water. I've just never heard of drinking a beer at the same time as taking Benedryl- makes me wonder if that gives one hallucinations or some such thing.not_nadine I'm glad you still have a devotion to Mary. She is most comforting. She helped dragged my wretched arse out of the depths.
skimom2 All that walking. Epsom salts in a lavender bubble bath with a beer and a benedryl. Fix you right up.
Just show up with a bucket of KFC?They're having a traditional church wedding at 4:00 in the afternoon, and have rented a separate venue for the reception. It is a very good friend, but she has a good job and makes more a year than I do. Her mother also happens to have a couple of million from the sale of some property a few years ago......It's a printed invitation and RSVP card, so everyone is getting the same thing. Something about it really bothers me.
Okay - I missed this one - maybe N_N's idea is better, actually.Tell 'em you are bringing KFC. A half a bucket cause you ate the other half of it on the way, 'scuse my dress grease stains.
I was pruddy when I started out.

I have never heard of asking people to bring food to a wedding reception, either. But maybe they wanted to have more of a casual, comfortable type setting?
Trying to be positive.
I got married at the courthouse and then we ate at Pizza Hut. Never had a reception or even a cake! So what do I know? We could have had a heck of a shindig if I had thought of this!
Aww! Thanks! It's in February. The 15th.I'll bet you bought your own meal at pizza hut, too!!!!
I still don't think it's appropriate to ask invited guests to bring food.
I'll make you a cake, CAT!!.......when's your anniversary?

One of my coworkers made us a cheesecake, so I guess we did have a cake. Not that day, though.
I sometimes think it would have been nice to have had the dress and the whole "big deal" wedding. But we're happy and still going, so really, I wouldn't change a thing.
That's what I was thinking.Given the financial circumstances you've mentioned of the groom's family, that's really tacky.
