Book inventory at the school library, lunch with DD#1, work at book fair, dinner, walk...boring stuff :)

First day of summer vacation here. RJ coming over (I am going to have him pretty much every day, now. Weekdays, anyway.) Ali has a birthday/slumber party across the street tonight. Hubby on nights, so I will be trying to keep 4 kiddos relatively quiet.

Tonight, wash and dusting and vacuuming.

Somewhere in there, would like to continue reading.

Opening up the swimming pool tonight so it will be ready for the Memorial Day weekend, and will fix up the trampoline if time allows.

Was thinking of rounding up some pink flamingo lawn ornaments and shipping them off to the Fla-bling-o Lady for customization, but realized the errors of my ways. :)

Going to practice your synchronized swimming?

I hate the dang thing. I may go in the pool once a year if I'm lucky to cool off from working on a hot summer day. Yet I'm the one that has to vacuum it, skim it, add chemicals, constantly redo the filter, and open and close it every year.

Every storm I stand next to the pool and proclaim to the heavens "I AM NOT A CONSERVATIVE" in hopes god will send a bolt of lightning my way, and that his aim might be slightly off. Alas, god seems to have a wicked sense of humor. :(

Pools are such a pain to open/maintain. Hubby does all the pool stuff, but he actually enjoys swimming in it.
He gets annoyed that the rest of us want nothing to do with it.
I think I would rather go jump in the lake.
[I've been told to do just that as well, as in "Why don't you go jump in the lake?"]

To do today:

Hand wash some laundry that we'll need before I can get to laundromat.
Take a walk.
Take trash to the dump.
Figure out what to make for dinner.
Pick up a few things at the store.
Wrap some b-day gifts.
Possibly go to the gym.

Nice, boring day for 80s.
Hopefully I didn't jinx it.

Not me! I don't go in water things live in. But I don't go in the pool because the water is too cold. Even in July/August.
We went swimming once in this murky looking lake and guess what? Yup - leeches! Yuck! I prefer swimming in places that look like they have fresh water in them, but I know what you mean - sometimes you feel a reed or something brushing up against your foot and it freaks you out :m_run::run_pig:

I will hazard a guess - if it actually ran after your son it could be a wolf spider - they are aggressive and will jump at you [little buggers!]
They also bite :icon_eek:

"Wolf Spider vs. Brown Recluse
It may help to observe the movements of the spider in question. Named for their swift motion, particularly while attacking prey, the wolf spider can sometimes be seen scurrying across open surfaces. The brown recluse, on the other hand, tends to hide in dark, unvisited places and is rarely seen in the open. Recluses also have six eyes arranged in pairs combined with a violin marking on their cephalothoraxes. Wolf spiders do not have these combined characters."

My son is terrified of bugs. Even butterflies.

Most likely this spider was on the wall, possibly crawling. It was gone when I went looking. And I have not had my shower yet.

Me, too 80s - I have a nice list that I am checking off very gradually.

Tonight - something with ground beef perhaps (I like ground beef a lot) or perhaps a marinated top sirloin on the BBQ with potatoes and salad!

I'm terrified of butterflies too. And every other creepy crawly - except spiders. I don't know why.
My daughter is OK with all creatures (even mice and snakes which petrified me) but has extreme arachnophobia.
So we help each other out...

I used to not be willing to swim with the fishes. But I really loved swimming. One summer at a cottage I got talked into swimming across a lake, which was about a mile and a half. Two swimmers, so we had adults in two boats. I was in the middle of the lake when I got caught by seaweed and started panicking. My dad wanted to help me, but my brother wouldn't let him. He knew if they pulled me out I'd never go back in. I relaxed, got the seaweed off and finished the swim.

I protect him from the creepy crawlies and he protects me from the dogs. But only the big dogs. He hates little bouncy yappy things....he considers them like big hairy bugs.
