Dana, you would think you'd died and gone to heaven at that used book shop! The owner has been running it for 44 years, and even after a month of sales, he still has over 300K books left, including many vintage paperbacks that are in phenomenal shape, each at a maximum of 50 cents/ea (bigger quantities have lower prices, down to 1 cent/ea if you'll buy his stock--lol). I only had a few $ with me, so I had to limit myself (until I go back on Friday, his last day). Today I got
The Elementals,
The Amulet, and
Cold Moon over Babylon by McDowell,
Bethany's Sin by McCammeron, a vintage (1955) copy of Wyndham's
Re-Birth, a vintage
The Talented Mr. Ripley (1959),
Fear Itself (I'd not even heard of that one, though I'm sure you have), a brand new
The Passage TPB, a book called
Bedlam, and a book of actor's monologues for my daughter. Out of there for $5. I just paid $3.59 min for each copy of
Blackwater books from Thriftbooks (kicking myself for not waiting, because he had 3 of the 5 I ordered), and a used copy of The
Elementals was stupid spendy on Amazon. I'm very pleased, can you tell?
