I've read 2 Koontz books: The Hiding Place, which totally terrified me. I think a movie was made of it, with Jeff Goldblum; and some book that was very much like The Mist - no where near as well written, but the same "gist" of event: Ummm, I have to google, it was: Argh, I still can't figure it out. Maybe The Taking. Anyway.Wow, that takes me right back to my childhood. Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton are about the only authors I even came close to trying to read. I was never a big reader though and would give up and play my atari.

I recently found a paperback copy of the exorcist in better condition and with better cover art than my very scruffy copy. I also got a hardback with no dust jacket of The Bad Place by Dean Koontz. I still haven't read any Koontz books but have 7 on my shelf.
Listening to GNTLGNT talk about them, I'm tempted to start the Odd Thomas series. I'm going to look for them as I thrift. If it's meant to be, they'll come to me.
