Mine said may have, too.My info is not impacted but Scott's "may have" been. Are they saying "may have" to everyone or has anyone gotten a flat out "yes?"

'Yes' for sure or 'may have'?Mine said yes, too.
I didn't look around on the site itself, but had heard on the news that they were giving a year's free service.I didn't see anything in their writings that says anything is free, just to 'click here' to sign up for the premium service.
May have--edited after I posted yes.'Yes' for sure or 'may have'?

I just looked as far as the yes or no page, then did not go further. You have to click on another page to sign up for the monitoring, so you should be good to check your info, I think.I haven't looked yet because I am considering joining on of the Class Actions against them.

Well, that's good. I think they should just automatically enroll a person who is impacted by this, though. It is their mess up.Found this info on Money.CNN
4. "If I take Equifax's offer for credit monitoring, I am giving up my right to sue."
No. Not anymore.
Initially, Equifax limited the legal options consumers had, but it has since updated its policy to say: "enrolling in the free credit file monitoring and identity theft protection products that we are offering as part of this cybersecurity incident does not prohibit consumers from taking legal action."
Winston credits the quick response of politicians, attorneys general, the media and individuals on social media with Equifax's about-face on this issue.
"There was an arbitration and limitation of liability clause in place initially and they have removed those offending provisions, in the face of widespread outcry," says Winston. "But, it was a battle that consumers should have never needed to fight."
((((Krf))))This just follows on the heels of my other lovely news I got today: I interviewed for a full time job that didn't offer benefits, was offered the job a half hour after the interview by phone, asked the guy if he would give me time (24 hours) to research how much self-insuring would cost me (which is astronomical- they expect someone making $13 an hour to pay $400 a month for coverage!), went back in this morning to tell him I would take the job only to have him tell me he gave it to someone else. Got a letter from unemployment which didn't contain good news. My cat's head is twitching and it scares me but I can't afford to take her to the vet. Life just keeps getting better and better....
They won't use the info for a few years at least. They'll hold on to it and sell it later. I really don't care if someone in Eastern Europe uses my SSN to buy a house. I can easily prove that I haven't left the country.Well, that's good. I think they should just automatically enroll a person who is impacted by this, though. It is their mess up.
I read where the free monitoring may be useless anyway, because the hackers will just wait to use the info until the year is up.
