It’s true... men don’t need instructions. I had to assemble and put up for display 10 different lawnmowers in 3.5 hours yesterday evening. Only two of them were assembled the same, and five different manufacturers. The only way I could accomplish the task in time was to not even open the instruction manuals. :)
I assume they don't have to be working displays........:p

Huh? What? I am not actually going through a rough patch - on the contrary I am doing very well indeed but I thank you for your concern. I chose to take this course so I could get out and meet other like minded people.

Since I recently retired I did not want to become housebound and socially isolated.

I was just lucky enough to be enrolled the same day I saw it on the morning news!

Anyway, if you get a chance, you should try to find such a course or at least check out resources available to you in your local area. I have learned quite a bit and look forward to going there every Tuesday afternoon. I'll be sorry when it's over.

:cool2:=D

:biggrin2::encouragement:

p.s. I know you meant well, but I was taken aback by what you said - I did not lose my job, I voluntarily took retirement as the opportunity arose, rather than waiting until I am 65.
I know you took early retirement because you said so. I just thought you might be sad seeing you were taking a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy course. I haven't done a course in CBT, but I have read a book on CBT (Change Your Thinking by Sarah Edelman), it is based so your behaviour can change the way you act and think. I didn't mean anything by what i said, I also understand when someone retires it can leave a void in their life. To me, you seem like a friendly but strong and independent woman who really shouldn't need to do stuff like that, that's why I suggested doing something you feel passionate about. I don't think I said you lost your job. You told everyone that you were retiring because you wanted to do more with your life. I'm sorry if you were angry.

You're right - I probably do not need such a course, but still I think people can learn, no matter what stage of life they are in.

Thanks for the apology :)

I'm not angry but I was surprised. CBT is a good thing - you don't need to have a problem or be sad to take it.

I'll admit I am a bit sad at times (I guess everyone is, now and then) but it's not an overwhelming sadness. When I was younger I was a real optimist - very happy and actually laughing often.

I think right now it could be this long winter that is getting me down, plus the recent life changes are a bit tricky to deal with, but I'm the one who wanted to try retirement. Don't think I'll be rushing out to get a job again anytime soon. :laugh: It's actually quite nice to have time for myself after working for over 42 years!

(((((Mr. Cranky))))) - you're a good guy and I like you - take care...

I was just browsing new sofas. I found one I really liked, regularly $1,399.99. It was on sale for $1,398.00.

It is the official sign of the dumbing down of America.

While I wasn't able to get the ACC title for the Heels, I think I did manage a pretty good showing. I think you might need to start saving again for my trip to Vegas.....
They surprised me a little too. Youngest son didn't even care about Saturday game after they beat ratface and evil empire on Friday. Butt, little Grayson Allen humor, if Maye has a bad game in tourney could go home early, perhaps in first weekend.

Tell you what I will get the truck detailed. You keep those nails shiny and we will play it by ear.

If you give me enough notice I can have a bag packed in what 5 minutes?

That should be enough for a week right?
