What about stealing your dad's razor to take your first shave? I was the first kid in my class to shave (a hairy little 14 year-old, I was).

Know what I do miss though? The freedom of not being tethered to an electronic device. On Saturdays I would leave the house at 8 am, travel to the city (about a half-hour drive by taxi) to meet my friends, and my parents would not see or hear from me for the next 12 hours. And nobody would be bothered by that.

And it took about a half hour if you wanted to get a burger specially made without onions.
Nah brother...

When she worked there they didn't do special orders. You ate it the way it came or scraped it off.

Burger King's "Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce" jingle was meant to attract customers who didn't want to rake condiments into trash before eating.

Oh and she could take home any food that was left over at end of night...

Part of what kept me coming around. ;-D

Hey the only time my family "ate out" was when a local place "Rays", partially owned by Richard Petty, had a five hamburgers for a $1 special.

I am at that age when I consider my cell phone a slave bracelet. I miss the days when I could go hours without anyone need to know where I was located.
arista, come hang out with me for a while.

Where I live you can go check cows, hunt, or just walk in the woods if you like...

Best thing about that is no bars...

Oh you can text if you HAVE to but if somebody wants to talk they better call the house.

Yep we the ones that still have a land line.

Gasp.

Our 'local' McDonalds in the 70', 20 miles away with the 30 foot tall golden arches, frowned on special orders but begrudgingly made them... You just waited forever for your order. And yeah, I made the mistake of requesting no onions once, and only once. I scraped the onions off after that.

I grew up town loaded with steel workers and coal miners. There were two bars for every church. And we had a lot of churches.

Dude do not ask me to tell you what she said those teenage burger flippers did to the food when somebody asked for a 'special order".

Do not.
