Think the mileage (low) and provenance (King owned) are putting this corvette at the top of price range for this model. Similar corvettes with more miles and less famous owners are priced from 6500 to 10,000. But they should be the next to rise in value. Cars from the 1970s have jumped in value in recent years. 80s cannot be far behind.

Just a shout out to those who are already retired or semiretired (or even know someone who's retired!) - did you find the adjustment a bit challenging? How long does it take for you to feel better about a new routine or the fact that you are collecting a pension but don't have to go to work?

I think after so many years of working I somehow feel a bit guilty about not accomplishing enough or being more productive. I know - everyone thinks it's the greatest thing and look forward to it but some days I think it would be nice to be back at work. Anyone else ever heard of this or am I just a strange person (okay - don't answer that last question) :tounge:

It's been six months now for me - I heard somewhere it takes about a year to adjust. Any thoughts?

I've heard that, too. I'm semi-retired -- not writing for news sites anymore as of last year -- and I found it easier to find new things to take up my "free-time," including working on a few books. But there are days when I find myself sitting in front of the TV asking myself, "WTF are you doing watching Family Feud?"

((Neesy)) I bet it is a big change. I have to admit, I'm envious - I'm ready to not be working my arse off anymore. But then I wonder what exactly will I do. danie retired - maybe she can help. I think you have to keep busy. You know I work in a church and I'll tell you - our retired volunteers are a blessing in so many ways. If you want something to do, go offer your help at a church. There's always flowers and plants to be water or re-potted, albs that need to be washed, classrooms that could use a de-cluttering. If my co-worker is out - and she often is - I can't leave the building during office hours for lunch or anything, unless I get a volunteer to man the phones and doors - so they help with that too. Large mailouts, receptions. Just a thought. There's also the whole of Catholic Charities that needs daily volunteers: soup kitchen, drivers, meals for the home bound. There's so much to be done - you would probably have to make sure you don't end up volunteering 40 hours plus a week.

Yeh it is an adjustment, mom felt the same thing. What all do you do all day, could you take an adult learning class, like some type of hobby. Like crafts or a writing workshop or something

Finally Friday!! :applause:

Scott is taking his brother and Ty up the mountain tomorrow. They will be gone a few days. Evan has to work so he can't go. It is still a bit early for me to go up. Still too cold at night for me. So Ali and I will have a (mostly) girls weekend while Evan is working and the others are camping.

Brandon, Marti and the grandbabies were in Denver this last week for a wedding. Marti and the kids were all part of the wedding. :love_heart:

Tried to get a pic of Evan and his new ride to upload but I couldn't resize it enough without cropping him almost out of the picture!

But he is the proud new owner of a Chevy Trailblazer.
