Might have strained a muscle patting myself on the back this morning. On Monday night I had a senior moment forgetting that stringy things don't do well in garbage disposals and put a bunch of kale stems down. Result was the pipe got a clog and wouldn't drain on that side of the sink. Found a YouTube video yesterday for how to take the pipes apart and clean things out but didn't have time then. For whatever reason, woke up at 4:30 this AM but thought it was 6 so had plenty of time to attempt the project. An hour later all pipes put back together, clog was cleared, water is draining on both sides of the sink and no leaks. Can only imagine what that would have cost had I called a plumber.
Did you remember to fasten the whoseamadinger back together with the thingamabob?

Doesn't it feel amazing to do something like that yourself? I've been doing small plumbing jobs on my own for a couple of years.
The best reward is the amazed look on my Mom's face......she thinks you need a man to so everything.
Sure does! It was messy but really very easy to do, too. And now if I ever make that mistake again, I won't have any qualms about taking everything apart to fix it.

Did you check out the nurses? Let me know how your sponge bath goes. Hopefully Giant isn’t moonlighting in that facility while you’re there...
Nurses and I don’t get along. One time I was in the hospital overnight and was incredibly hungry, could only have liquids, so I called and ordered myself a pizza. When it was delivered a nurse intercepted it. She made sure to hand the entire pizza to the other nurses and they came into my room to so I could watch them eating the whole pie up. Nurses are sadists!

Great job! My $10 do-it-yourself plumbing projects usually turn into a $350 emergency plumber call. :)

I remember when I was little, he was hit in the eye with a baseball, and was taken to the hospital. As they were admitting him, he asked if he could go home and get some clothes.....Idiots allowed him to do so, and he didn't go back. when the eye started bleeding again about a week later, he went back to the hospital, and again as he was being admitted, he asked if he could go home and get some clothes. The doctor looked at him sternly, and said, "You ain't going nowhere".
Tsk, tsk, tsk. He should have known not to ever use the same ploy twice on the same people. Always have a backup ruse. :)

That possibility did cross the back of my mind but the video was a great step-by-step tutorial and other than the two screws attaching the pipe collar to the disposal, everything was hand tightened, otherwise I might not have attempted it.

I'm curious, did the video instruct you how imperative it was to turn the circuit breaker off?

The first one did and had a really involved tutorial so went searching for another one. It said to unplug the disposal but didn't say you needed to turn the circuit breaker off so that's what I did and between the towels and bowl I had to catch the water, it didn't end up anywhere near the plug.

Question. This topic might have its own forum, I'm not sure. But does anyone know if Steve's unpublished novel Sword in the Darkness will ever be released? Some of it was published in an Unpublished Collection I believe. Another unpublished question, will Steve's novella The Aftermath ever get released, I find the premise of a lot of Steve's unpublished work to be really interesting, not sure why some of it hasn't been released yet. Apparently the manuscript for Sword in the Darkness was was rejected by over ten publishers, crazy.

Highly unlikely as they aren't ones he wants to have published because he doesn't feel the writing is up to his current standards and has no desire to edit them.

If I'm not mistaken I believe Steve wrote the majority of the first TDT book when he was still in College, I thought it was still written well, although, I had a later edition so he might have done some re-writing and editing, and he does mention in the introduction that he added some more pages. Maybe he'll get around to it at some point, but surely that would be an interesting task, to re-write and edit something that you wrote that long ago. Surprised that he doesn't think that Sword in the Darkness is good enough, because he did submit it to multiple publishers, but maybe his standards changed I guess.

At the time he wrote it, he did think it was good enough. He has since revised that opinion. You would be amazed at the number of unfinished stories and novel manuscripts he has accumulated over the years that will never be completed or published because he either lost the thread of the story or decided it wasn't good enough to keep going.

Man, I knew Steve was prolific, but that adds another dimension.
