Blasphemy! Where is George R.R.!
I never cared for his earlier work....."Sand Kings" ...really turned me off.
Haven't read or seen GOT. Just looks like another unoriginal fantasy take on Tolkien type scenarios and world's.
Dungeon and Dragons like.
I'm sure it is good, I'm just not in a hurry to go seek it out. I don't have HBO and not planning on getting it anytime soon.
I much prefer the Gunslinger's world/ world's.
Though that be based on Spaghetti westerns that meet Robert Browning, it is the most refreshingly original fantasy to come out.

Is it weird that I love the Dune film from 1984? :)
Now Herbert is great!
The book Dune is one of the best books I have ever read!
I love how he made a glossary for the front of the book.
That movie was horrible, it could never do the writing justice, and I never expected it to.
It did have some good high points.
Paul's test was alright.
Patrick Stewart was good as Gurney Halek,
But I was disappointed with Thufir.
Sting....love him, but not in that part.

Nooooo.....it isn't weird you like that movie. :)

You realise that the majority of the movie's dialogue came directly from the book? :) The film seems to be hated in most of North America, but in Europe and Japan it is hailed as a classic.
