A little light relief to help us all out

Here we are reopening some stores and also restaurants that have patios.

You can get a haircut but the nail salons are still closed (I don't normally go to those anyway except for the occasional pedicure as a treat)

All of the public libraries remain closed (dammit!)
:reading:
The Zoo will re-open tomorrow. :frog:
Hurray! :m_excited:

Now that's what I'm talking about, nothing more irresistible than a baby's belly laugh. Although it does make me just a tad nervous about the dog being that up in the baby's face.

In Western Australia where I am it's been 8 days since our last coronavirus case and only 11 active cases. I'm glad our state closed it's borders. More restrictions are being lifted Australia wide as well. The other good news is no sport on TV.

....to date, all CoVid tests on our population have been negative......the process is ramping up now-meaning more Inmate testing and all staff to be tested, so I'm hoping the results stay as flat as possible......I think the fact that we are located in a rural area has mitigated some of the infection fears, plus-many of us also live in rural areas.....

Very much hope that trend continues. Stay safe!

If our two countries can keep our numbers teeny tiny low and our contact tracing super duper then we may see an Aussie-New Zealand bubble form over the next months, then hopefully the Pacific Island nations too.

Somewhere over the rainbow
I think we’re all a bit tired of coronavirus about now and all the bad news that we hear about it. It’s also becoming way too political and we don’t need to hear about that either. For that reason and because the other coronavirus thread has gotten way too far into the HT territory (my apologies for my part in that), I’m closing down the old one and starting this one.

This thread will only be for the good news stories related to coronavirus. Sounds like an oxymoron but they’re out there, including from our own members, so let’s have more sharing of those. Fair warning: any other posts that start drifting into HT will be deleted. There are plenty of other places on the internet where you can go if you want to talk about what a bad job the (fill in the blank) government is doing, why can't we reopen quicker, conspiracy theories, etc. so no whining about censoring your opinions. You're free to express them there.

Finding something positive about COVID-19
Might take me a minute but I do know what you mean...
I've made myself crazy watching PBS and FOX
Rising unemployment rates and sharply falling stocks.
:eagerness:
Let's see... I don't have to put on make-up anymore!
No one cares because we all wear masks when at the store.
I don't have to clean the house (that's good 'cause it's a mess)
And I have discovered that red wine reduces stress.

I can live my life in sweatpants now... That's pretty great.
(Also, a necessity - I'm piling on the weight.)
Yet, because of quarantine, I get to skip the gym.
Mr. S. assures me that it doesn't bother him.

"So, I've got that going for me." Plus, we've got our health
Even if our mode of living has been set on stealth.
Yes, although I've had to wait for Stephen's latest book,
I guess there are good things in pandemics if you look.
