They applied for compassionate leave from the quarantine for a bereavement and as part of their conditions of the leave, they were be tested in the city they were travelling to at the end of their quarantine period. They returned positive tests.
Sorry to hear about it Flake! Hoping they did not have contact with a lot of people - stay safe

It's raining here for the 3rd straight day and only in the 60s. Boo! Worse at the Outer Banks, so I guess I'm glad I'm here. We found out that we won't go back to the office to work until Sept 8th earliest and then it will likely be a staggered shift with only 30% capacity at a time. I broke down and ordered a laptop stand and wireless keyboard for my work from home desk. Should arrive by Friday. Yay!

Hugs to all who need them!!! (((All in need))) :love_heart:

From the reports this afternoon, my bridge is not in danger of imminent collapse but still the news isn't good. Where the chunk of concrete fell off the bridge, you can see rust on the steel cable which means water is getting in where it shouldn't be. When the cable rusts, the concrete breaks away. I've seen that happen in buildings with rebar. When rebar gets wet and starts to rust, the concrete will break away from the rebar. You've probably seen collapsed concrete balconies or canopies before and rusting rebar is the culprit in many cases.

Anyway, the Southbound span is closed indefinitely and they will be inspecting the north bound span. I heard that there are issues with the North span too. So, we are probably looking at a long term traffic headache. (Of course a headache is better than falling into the river)
