As I read The Black House, and we are introduced to the characters, I loved Mouse and the gang. Big burly bikers who enjoy their "rep" but are actually very educated and smarter than your average bear. (I rode years ago.... many years ago, but no longer ride, so that's not it.) People see them and immediately form a negative opinion...
The wife and I were in favorite eatery many years ago when I was still working patrol, and there was a loud group of bikers at a nearby table. Full leathers, beards, tatts, the works. The wife started to make a comment but I squeezed her thigh under the table and she controlled herself.
A few minutes later, one of the bikers slide into the booth and said, "Way to keep your woman under control Bro!"
Just before she exploded, she noticed his grin and the laughing blue eyes. He was an undercover officer we knew from my department. Two others in the group we also from narcotics, one from DEA, and the last from the Commonwealth's Attorney's office. You never know.
We have several friends who have gone full biker since they retired. One was my partner when I was flying in the Corps... we flew as Gunners together. He is an IT contractor for the Corps. Another rides his Harley to work at the bank where he runs midnight shift at the operations center. Lol.
You never know.
