    Rearranged my book shelves.

Don't let a guy who hasn't even seen Once Upon a Time in America hound you about not reading Deliverance.

    Say What?

'Put wud int' oyl' 'Put the wood in the hole 'Shut the door' A local joke based on our accent. 'A Yorkshireman takes his cat to the vets. "Is it a tom?" the vet asks. No I brought it with me. .' 'a tom' is how we pronounce 'at home'

Did Vern Ever Find His Pennies?

Vern was killed in a house fire in '66. 'There had been a large drunken party; Vern was there. Someone fell asleep in one of the bedrooms with a live cigarette going. Vern himself, maybe, drifting off, dreaming of his pennies.' That suggests he didn't find them, to me.

    Recommended reading order?

Chronologically worked for us old dudes. Not that we had a choice.

    St. Christopher

I have everyone of his books on my bookcase. I find the kindle great for looking things up. I've only read one book on it, a non SK, it's actually my 13 year old daughter's.

    St. Christopher

I shall take great pleasure in going through the book on my kindle at the weekend. It could be related to the fact that Ben is in SL because he killed his wife in a car accident.

    St. Christopher

I assume you're asking why SK used St Christopher's emblems in 'Salem's Lot. I would have thought it's because of the constant travelling Ben and Mark have to do after what happens in the novel.

    Symbol on IT's lair

I spent ages looking it up years ago. Looks Japanese to me. I vaguely remember the guy in Insomnia who loses the plot and does a kamikaze style crash, putting on a head scarf with a similar, definitely not the same, symbol on it.

What Did You Do Today? What are you doing today?

Working up to lunchtime, about another hour and half. Then going to Liverpool, home of the Beatles, for the weekend.

    Discussing the book... Spoilers

This is our Hockney in our bedroom. Just incase you're wondering, Clint had a similar one in his office that Lila had bought him.

    Flowchart: Connection to The Regulators?

Cheers mate. I wasn't aware of it, I took great joy in looking it up.

    Flowchart: Connection to The Regulators?

Close, but no cigar. It's in Desperation, Part Two, Chapter Two, section 4. Page 203 in my copy, but mine's a BCA version. 35% in on a kindle. 'Beside it, anchored by a plastic box of Pushpins, was a note: "Jim--What the hell is this? Any idea? Barbie."'

    Easter Eggs (Needful Things)

I was between 11 and 15 when it was aired. I see sullying of threads is still prevelant around these parts :bashful:

    Easter Eggs (Needful Things)

Johnny Smith is mentioned, but that's because it's a (the last) Castle Rock novel.

    Easter Eggs (Needful Things)

Flagg isn't mentioned, it rings a bell so the quote must be from the film. If it's connection to Flagg you're looking for, my favourite is the 'Yog-Sothoth rules' graffiti. Yog-Sothoth is the co-ruler of the outer gods in Lovecraft's Mythos. If you look up Randall Flagg on Wikipedia one of his...

Every so often a novel-reader's novel comes along:

Loved The Passage, as I was reading it the urban legend of 'The Russian Sleep Deprevation Experiment' came to mind. Maybe I'd only recently heard of it. Check it out online, you'll probably see what I mean. Wasn't quite as impressed with The Twelve, not got round to the third one yet, as my 'ti...

Just remembered this from the Summer, when our team, Huddersfield Town Football Club got promoted to the English Premiership.
