I know a bunch of people play guitar on here, I have a question/looking for advice.

I've been getting drawn to the telecaster lately, and might consider getting one. As it wouldnt be my main guitar, I wouldnt pay the kind of money as I did on my usa fender strat. I'd like to here your opinions on squier classic vibe vs Mexican fender player.

Squire classic vibe: highest end of fenders Chinese guitars - much higher quality than affinity and bullet. They cost around £330.

Fender player: entry point for branded fenders, made in mexico. They cost around £500.

Does anyone have experience with them?

I have a Takamine acoustic, which I've had for 30 years at least (man I've gotta change those strings). My first and last foray into electric guitars was a George Washburn starter guitar for $150 bucks at Costco. That was about 4 years ago. I love that thing! Electric guitars are ever so much easier to play than my old 'Tak' (SK reference). I generally only play for myself, in the basement, with a bottle of scotch, so sound quality doesn't matter too much to me. When I play in front of folks the sound quality still does not matter to me. Just be sure to get one where the neck matches the size of your hand comfortably. Have fun!

I'm a little concerned now. swiftdog2.0 's mom does a lot of doctoring. I'm not sure he's told us why, but am concerned for Swiftmom.

The SwiftClan is OK. Healthy and socially distant.

I’ve relocated from SwiftDog Manor to stay with my Mom during the stay at home order here in MA. SwiftMom lives alone and is in the high risk group so we are making sure she stays in and has someone to do her grocery shopping and pharmacy runs for her.

I don’t have a MIM tele but do have a Charvel tele type guitar made in the same factory (Fender owns Charvel). The quality is top-notch. I also have a MIM Jazz bass. My only issue with that was the bridge was pretty cruddy so I upgraded it. Plays great now! I have a few other Charvels that were made in Mexico as well. All solid instruments.

I would recommend the MIM tele. The build quality is usually good and even if you have to replace some hardware you’re still at about half the price of a USA made instrument.
