I made a short film years ago. No one but my kids and myself saw it, but I had planned on putting it on YouTube. Long story short, the files containing the film are corrupted beyond repair. I don't really want to remake the film, but might decide to. Who knows? I thought of telling the story in short-story format, perhaps changing it a bit to make it more "reader friendly" but have decided not to. I feel that the story was meant to be seen, rather than read. Could change my mind at any time, I suppose, but kinda doubt that I will. Anyone else ever had an issue like this? Does anyone else feel that some stories are only meant for a certain type of media?

Feel free to answer these questions, or add writer's problems of your own. Or both. :)

Can't you pull out your belt-sander, Chuggs, and sand the corruption away? I've always assumed that stuff online is not much more than exes and ohes...or ones and zeroes. Be nice to just give it a shake like a rug and the dirt flies away. But yeah, I get what you're saying about a certain type of media. Dunno if I agree with that entirely, but one certainly experiences a story differently reading versus viewing versus hearing so on and so forth.

Well, first off, if you ever decide to go into some type of filming business, you have to know that you are going to probably do scenes more than once, and if you get tired of it...you still do it. I don't know what you mean by "Reader Friendly", but you write it how you want it. That's the great thing about writing, you don't have to have a wide variety of readers. Like S.K. for example, they change a lot in the his movies because if they kept it the way it was...let's just say they would get a lot of complaints. Thas my advice. :3

Gntl, I certainly feel that way about it as of now.

Walter, if it were on the internet I think I could probably find it again, but alas, I didn't ever post it. I had it saved on a disk. I also have it on an older computer, so I might be able to retrieve it that way. Course, said old computer hasn't been powered up in at least two years.

When I've run into problems in the past I've sought professional help. They haven't always been able to retrieve information...lost all kinds of stuff due to lightening this once...a computer virus this other time. Maybe I should have said there's kiddie porn on there and they would have had it shining like new in no time, all files assembled and accessible. Where's the porn! I dunno...but thanks for retrieving all those Word documents! :) Best of luck with it.
