Very sudden. RIP Avicii (or Tim Bergling as his real name was). The authorities in Oman has played this very close to their chest. Practically the only thing they have said is that no crime is suspected. Gave away much of his money during his life. Said that when you have so much money that the basic needs are covered there is no need to pile it up. Better to give it away to other people that actually need it which he did. The whole profit from his US tour in, i think 2014, he gave away to an organisation that provided food for starving people in the US. Said that he was shocked when he found out that so many people actually starve or have not enough to eat in the US.

I didn't know this. That makes it even more sad.

Primarily I'm a fan of rock music but I do like some dance music, particularly euphoric trance. He may not have fallen quite into that category but he built his songs around melody rather than a beat, that's why I quite liked his music. I even put on a playlist of his in work to pay homage.
