The following audio has two tracks: regular crickets chirping, and the crickets slowed down to what they'd sound like if crickets lived as long as humans. The track is not synthesized in any way, just slowed down.
It sounds like a human chorus.

They do sound like a heavenly choir but in real life they freak me out, being the sissy I am. They jump in erratic ways and, irrational as it sounds, I'm scared one might land in my ear or go up my nose!
