Did the Republicans get ahold of it and put the kibosh on it?

I don't know what happened to it. I doubt that republicans or democrats have anything to do with it. The US government actually does not mandate any system. But the government could help things along if the government switched over to the metric system and required everything they purchased to be metric. I'm sure the decision is market driven but that doesn't even make sense to me since the big companies sell products all over the world - seems like the big companies would want one system.

It's so they can say "Let's go to the pub for a pint" which sounds so much better than "I'm in the mood for a litre" (that just doesn't sound right!)

I liked it so much better when Indiana did not participate in daylight savings time. It is supposedly creating several jobs..I have yet to see one job created as a result of this stupid time change.

Boy, I've heard some ridiculous reasons for daylight savings time but that one may be the winner.
