Why does this thread have hours, it seems like that would close off this thread to anyone outside of the US mostly.

This message board permanently closed on June 30th, 2020 at 4PM EDT and is no longer accepting new members.
We only have one moderator (me) who works full-time and the other three are unpaid volunteers. We feel that the volunteers deserve to have their weekends off to spend with their families. The Board is only closed on the weekends and is open 24 hours/day on weekdays which gives people in all time zones plenty of time to post.
Oooooooh, I didn't notice Friday and Monday, I thought those were daily hours. My bad!
And many of us old timers will recall a time when the MB closed each day at 4PM and did not open until the next morning at 8:30AM. No weekends, no forums- just one long page of posts.

It was awesome. An Official SKMB- great discussions, constant reader members, and the best Moderator who always "kept us on topic".
How can there have been a topic if it was just one long thread?
...think of it a herding cattle....keeping everyone on the current discussion and not going nuts with thoughts flying everywhere.....better yet, think of it as your own exchanges on Facebook....just one long page of posts, instead of the separate categories it has evolved into.....
Just like GNT said. We kept track of post #'s and referred back to them if you were answering a specific question. The world moved on and we have this wonderful modern MB now.

I was trying to think of an example, as I do not do FB or Twitter, and your explanation was spot on.
...I don't partake either, but I've watched Tracy use her FB page.....
