Hello, I am Precious Roy. My first Stephen King book was Night Shift which I read when I was 8 years old. My mother had shown me the Children of the Corn movie and I found Night Shift sitting on our bookshelf sometime later.

This was also when Lawnmower Man had been announced as a movie and I thought it looked amazing due to the virtual reality aspect. My mom said I couldn't see it but I begged her and thinking she would outsmart me she said she would let me see the movie if I read the book first.

Imagine my surprise when, skimming through the table of contents I found The Lawnmower Man and it was only 10 pages. I read it and when the movie adaptation came out I was greatly disappointed but the triumph was still mine.

My next book would be IT when I was 12. I checked it out from the public library and took it on a road trip. I was able to read while riding in a car without any discomfort save for a mean and sudden attack of nausea somewhere near the Nevada state line.

I'd love to be able to thank Mr. King for his books but I suppose reading them is plenty good enough.
