Much freaked out a bit....

I am making a roast on Sunday.. I just said to the oven.. hey mom! I hope I do you proud.

I sat down.

Suddenly I felt all warmth.... then all hands. I had my hands up withholding something.. scary

Threw them back with force. Puppy helped. mouthing my hands.... Then all calm again. and again warm mom feeling.

The hells? Was she here and something was stopping her?

Well, the chime may not have rung, but maybe she was trying to make contact.

I miss my mom so much. She passed away Jan 2010. That day something happened which I've always believed was mom reassuring me. After I'd dealt with the red tape (I was whatchacallit, the person the hospital had to get signatures from), through my tears and grief, I was bringing some of Mom's stuff from her room at the nursing home to load into my car. She had a turtle collection which at some point for some reason I'd started for her. Periodically I'd find a turtle toy or sculpture or something to give her for her collection; of these I'd given her a few little beanie type cloth turtles I'd found who knows where. I took a load of her stuff to the car, then returned for the rest, but was stopped at the entrance by something directly in my path on the floor. It was one of the beanie turtles, which I must've dropped on my way out. I'll always believe Mom had something to do with that.

I've heard this kind of stories many times. But I have never experience myself. Just in this weekend's magazine, I read about a famous Finnish
female singer. She had lost her son many years ago and she told the magazine she gets message from her son in heaven. My friends mother passed away
2011 and my friend told me once that when they had visited her grave, someone had written on the ground near the grave something lovely. And my
friend started to wonder, what if the message came from heaven from her mom. Cause there hadn't been any reasonable explanation who could have written it.

It's hard for me because most of my beliefs lay firmly in science. But science is not without it's flaws, and if you delve into theoretical physics, then the idea of spirits existing after life is by no means the most far fetched.

That said, there are 2 things that I've experienced:
1, when my dad died, I was a complete show. 6 feet, 250+ lbs grown man bawling like a baby being comforted by my diminutive, slight auntie. It must have looked ridiculous. I had no idea how I would get to sleep after that 1st night, but I did, and when I woke up I had an overwhelming sense that it was all ok, everything was calm. Just like that, unbearable grief gone in one sleep.

2, one day while I was in bed after waking up, I heard his voice calling my name in the exact same way he would call me if I was upstairs and he was downstairs. The voice was clear and I was fully aware that it was from in my head, not aloud.

In the Fall of 2005 I had to put my dog Joe to sleep. Fine one weekend, gone the next. Vet said he thought Joe had contracted this contagious disease I don't recall the name of but I think it starts with an "L". I still refer to that day as the worst of my life, and trust me that's saying something. I remember grieving so painfully that lying in bed, which we'd always shared, I yelled, "I miss my dog!!!".

One night I woke up and Joe was lying across my left leg. I didn't move, for fear he'd go away, until I fell back to sleep. When I woke up again he was gone.
