Hello,

My name is Jonathan Dalama and I currently reside in Miami, FL. I am an English major at FIU and have aspirations to become a full-time writer. I didn't realize how big a fan of Stephen King I was until I began to realize that some of my favorite movies derived from some of his novels. Movies are my passion and I grew up watching movies such as IT, The Shining and Shawshank Redemption. When I realized that these movies were adaptations of some of Mr King's novels, i began reading some of his stories. The first novel that I read from Mr King's collection of masterpieces is "The Shining" and after reading it, every book that I have picked up since has been written by the KING himself.
Hi there Jonathan Dalai Lama!

Welcome to the SKMB - I hope you enjoy spending time here. As far as books, pretty much all of them are good in many ways. I did enjoy 11/22/63 quite a bit

Depends on what you're in the mood for. Want some fantasy: any/all of the The Dark Tower books, The Eyes of the Dragon, The Talisman. Adventure: The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, The Stand, Desperation. Spooky: 'Salem's Lot, Gerald's Game, Pet Semetary. SciFi: The Tommyknockers, The Jaunt (short story). An excellent choice is always a volume of the short stories. Here's a list of everything...

Hi and welcome. A wide path of variety when reading SK. Not just all horror. I'd suggest The Dark Tower series(journey). It will be a life altering experience. Another movie related book- The Green Mile, excellent.
I was looking into the Dark Tower series last night. It's going to take some time, but I know that I will enjoy it. I have been looking for a long series. I loved the Green Mile. I haven't read the novel, but it is definitely on my to do list.

I really enjoyed "The Shining" and "on Writing" apart from some of the short stories that I have read. What are your favorites?
My all time favorite is still The Stand. Ny favorite short story collection is a close call betwwen Everything Eventual and Full Dark, No Stars. Wait, those are really novellas. But I have a hard time deciding.

I was introduced to "The Stand" in the early nineties when my father brought home the double VHS to watch. I still haven't read the novel, but is definitely on my to-do list. Thank you
