That's the word used by the industry to mean that someone else already owns the film rights.

I’ve read King filed notices that he intends to terminate the transfer of his licenses for the movies The Dead Zone, Cujo, Creepshow, Children of the Corn, Cat’s Eye, and Firestarter, in the US. And by September of this year he'll will have regained full US movie rights to a number of his stories.
Does he have a doctrine (or concept) on how his works will have to be handled if a studio wanted to make a sequel or remake of any of these movies?
Yes, but mostly in the sense of paying those who work on it with us
With how we would be doing the scene, it wouldn't take very much money, no where NEAR how much it took to make the original That's usually covered in the contracts.
You didn't mention your plans for distributing it, but it sounds like you'd need to get permission from the current rights holder. I don't know off the top of my head who that currently is.Yes, but mostly in the sense of paying those who work on it with us

The plans for distribution would mainly be local theaters, DVD sales, and on youtube as well

For some reason I assume paramount has the rights? Cause I've been seeing articles saying paramount will be remaking the first Pet Sematary in 2019
