Moderator, solely out of curiosity, I was wondering if this board is scrutinized by studios/publishers to get some indication of how a King product is doing in the marketplace.

The thought occurred to me as I read through some of the comments on The Mist. Does Spike have people read the comments and make a report? Certainly fine if the company does, it would make sense. Do you by any chance report on what the collective feelings are of the group? I think people here have speculated about that perhaps in the past (not about you, but about the studios), but not in a formal way, I don't believe.

I know I often assumed that, at the very least, when IMDB had discussion boards, younger actors/writers on the show who were IMDB-savvy must have checked out what people were saying simply just for the sake of it. And there are services which measure the social engagement of movies/episodic series -- i.e., see how much discussion there is of a particular project on Twitter/etc., and what the tone of that overall discussion is; I have seen this on the Deadline site, for example.

Anyway, just curious...

It's a public site so it's certainly possible they do so without my knowledge.

Yes, we do sometimes let them know fans' reactions without getting into any specific source/user names when they have asked. These days the Facebook site is a better indicator as there is a much larger fan base there.
