Something bugging me about the concert (possible spoiler)

I don't know how long it has been since Mr. King went to a "big-name" concert, but I haven't been to one yet that opened with the main act. Since Brady intended for the fans to hear some of their favorite band playing before "the event", they should first have had to sit for at least an hour for an opening act, and then time while they changed the stage setup between bands. So that would have given Bill, Jerome, and Holly at least an extra hour to play with. Just saying.

Okay, I think I answered my own question. I'm listening to the book a second time through (yes, I enjoyed it that much!) and realized that the concert was on a school night, and that the targeted audience was girls between the ages of 9 and 14. So they had to start it early and get right into the "main event" in order for the parents to allow their kids to go. So it does make perfect sense in that respect.

Welcome to the SKMB!

Thanks for the welcome! There was a time when I had read every Stephen King novel he wrote, but some of his novels and short stories began to fall into what I call the "one-inch-per-chapter" genre, in which the main character is either chained, tied up, or otherwise confined in a tiny space and the entire book revolves around their endeavor to free him/herself. Eventually I believe I finally did read the majority of those as well, mainly because I just love SK's character development and narrative style, but after a few of the "OIPC" stories I quit just buying every book as soon as it came out without reading the synopsis first.
