I'm reading this story and am surprised for the strange words SK used in it. I want to ask why he wrote "pitcher" instead of "picture". I'm interested in a reply because the word pitcher has some rude meaning. Thanks

There is a character "Pop" whose language seems slang. He's talking about a photograph but he referres to it as "pitcher".Welcome to the Board!
What was the full context in which this was used? It's been a long time since I read that story and don't remember the reference.
Yes!! I found that definition tooI think about how uses of language like that must be totally baffling to non-native English speakers, kind of the way it is for an American to read some of the British slang in an Adam Neville book. It's very effective in immersing the reader in the language, but it can be hard to figure out why it's being used even with a dictionary. I was thinking about it while reading Elevation with his usage of "lesbean."
