So far, the 2 oldest weren't angry about it...I was furious with my parents when I found out! :D It was an obstacle course table type game and I loved it. But the box had the price written on it in marker and my mom had tried to scratch it off/cover it up with pen. I said to them,"what is that? Santa doesn't buy his presents!!!" Game over for me. :(:D

I clearly remember finding out. My brother had repeatedly told me there was no Santa, but since my brother was never the most trustworthy I did not believe him.

Christmas morning, we went downstairs and my mom was sleeping on the couch. (My brother could not be trusted to go upstairs and wake her, and if I did! he might open my presents for me while I was up there....as I said! he could not be trusted.). So, there's mom, all groggy, getting woken up by us, no time for her cup of tea. My brother opens his stocking and gets a watch....a big gift by our families standards and he says "Thanks mom" and she says "Your welcome".

And my brother says "See...I told you it was mom".

I was crushed...for just a second. Because that woke my mom up, and she was more crushed then I was. I am the youngest of five kids, so her Santa died with me.

I opened my stocking and I got a birthstone ring. Something I had so desperately wanted, but I knew there was no way I could get because it was TO EXPENSIVE. My parents must have saved for months to get us those gifts....and even though I was only six I actually knew that.

I still have the ring. I plan to give it to my granddaughter. Her birthday is the same month as mine. Unfortunately, she is not very responsible yet, so it'll have to wait.

Ah that is sad. I think I was around six - I recognized my Mom's handwriting on a gift tag
In the beginning I'm sure I believed. As I got older I just found it hard to really believe in Santa or the Easter Bunny . it wasn't really anyone's fault it's just that I couldn't wrap my head around the fact that one man could visit all the kids houses in one night . . .and there's other things too, that led me to not believe . . .I'll keep those to myself.

Funny story. My middle son was 12 (I think) although at the time he was my youngest as I only had two. He had always wanted a baby brother or sister. Always loved babies.

He didn't believe, but he was really small for his age. When we were in malls if there was no line up he would run up to Santa....the man gave out candy canes. We were standing waiting while he ran up, sat on Santa's lap....and Santa started laughing...absolute hilarious type of laughing. Mrs. Claus went over, and after a scream of surprise, burst out laughing. Finally, Santa caught his breath enough to talk and he hollers over to us "this ones up to you to deliver". (Children heading to line up were getting scared.)

Santa is always in the middle of the mall...the place most people have to walk past, and every time we walked by, Santa and Mrs. Claus would burst out laughing again.

That summer, we gave him the good news.

Hi!

Well, that was a bummer. *sad*

My big brother was worser (Yeah, WORSER!)

I was ...maybe 4 or 5 years old and he woke me up out of a dead sleep. He put his finger to his lips ( be quiet) and led me through the house to the living room where our Christmas tree was and around the corner. There, he let me see my Momma and Daddy putting our Santa gifts under the tree! That totally broke my heart and wonderment of Santa. HUGE bummer.

My big brother is not well.

Sorry.

My son was about six, seven??? when he found out there was no Santa Claus. However, being the intelligent and sly young child he kept *believing* for a couple more years. More presents for him. Ha!

Peace.
