Why??

The touchpad dial screen kept disappearing on my old phone whenever I tried to enter a series of numbers. Freaking infuriating. So I stood in line at the Black Friday sale to get a spiffy new Samsung Galaxy. Got it. Set it up. Activated it. Fine and dandy.
Called to find out the balance on my card.
The screen disappears when I try to enter a series of numbers.
WHY???

At times like these I don't presume I can fix the problem myself. Since the phone's brand new and under warranty, if it were me, I'd call support.

Maybe it is a busy day? Years ago it was that way...try calling home on the holidays...if I recall it took some.

Could the screen lock time be set to low? Some phones are set default to 5 seconds or as soon as it senses no tactile input. Might check that setting.

I'll check, but it blanks out right in the middle of a set of numbers. Just like the old one did. Just like Tall Guy's does when I borrow his. Anybody else can use it and it's fine.

You might suffer from the same affliction that one of the scientists (Sam Neill) in the first Jurrassic Park movie did when ever he was around computers? Hope it stops doing it to you, LL!

I forgot to mention that I, too, suffer from the computer syndrome- something always goes wrong for me.....
