Here, there and everywhere.
Mon Dieu. Everybody take a deep breath. This is like planning a wedding, something that begins with love and ends with hurt feelings and drunken brawls in a parking lot. I can't imagine how hard it is to find a restaurant that would please five people of equal tastes and finances, let alone x number of people from a message board. Planning something is a thankless task. I'd suggest Cracker Barrel, which is also family friendly, but it doesn't have private rooms, and also someone would be bound to shoot it down based on their hiring practices. It's always gonna be something.

I didn't see your post, DJ, but I'm sure you meant no harm.

I think I started it. Can you delete mine while you're at it? Thanks so much sisterwife.
No, you didn't. I take complete responsibility. I was commenting on MY experiences at MY neighborhood Golden Corral. It was the wrong thread to do that. I apologize. Scott is doing a great job. Golden Corral has tasty food and the best part about it is who you will be eating with. THAT makes the meal.

Is Steve going to be there? Can I dip his knuckles in the chocolate fountain and... oh, it's a family place, never mind.

Hello. :)
Just gonna take a moment to say...

Where we eat, what we eat...matters not a bit...WHO we eat with DOES!!!!!
I was at the Kon last year and the people are what's important. Trust me. We could eat weeds, roadkill, nothing...you'll barely remember the food, but you WON'T forget the people!!!!!!
Scott is doing a fantastic job organizing things...this Kon is in very good hands. Remember...he's been there, done that!! Thank you, Scott, for everything!!!

I plan to come to this myself!! And I can't wait!!! I am really looking forward to it!
I know I'm not the most active member of the SKMB, but this place means the world to me. I wouldn't miss this for the world....

sullied scott's thread. Deleted my posts. Carry on.
...Deej, I will repeat publicly what I replied to you privately...I am sorry for being harsh, my world is a bit awry at the moment and I unloaded on those closest to me...you are dear friend, and I apologize with all I have for trodding roughly on that friendship. Big people have bad days, and yesterday was one for the ages...work stressors, my youngest was assaulted just the other evening, Tracy is going back to work and I'm going to have precious little time with her....not to whine, but these are the issues that had me on edge-and I not only ask you to forgive me DJ, but the rest of my family as well...I only want this to be a great gathering...I'd be happy just sitting and yakking for three days-that's how much I love and respect you all...please forgive my momentary lapse of decorum...

Golden Corral... what's not to like? Lots of choices, different types of food from salad bar to Chinese to southern, etc... It's just good fresh food economically priced with lots of variety.

...white and milk chocolate fountains and a new caramel fountain as well...no skinny-dipping though...well, at least not at the restaurant...the shower in my room will always be available for private shows...speakng of Tracy and my hotel, I propose making it the "nerve(of it)center"...it's the Travelodge, 90 West Hanley Road in Mansfield..it's about 15 minutes or so from everything...

And as I said to you privately, I never meant to undercut all the hard work you have put into this. It is stressful and my observations about my local eatery had no place here. We are good. We have talked this out and I will be more sensitive going forward.
