She might just need a bath. Since she's been outside, she may have come in contact with stuff that makes your wife allergic. If you bathe her and get that off, she might be just fine. But obviously she'd have to be an indoor cat.Looks like we might not be able to keep the new kitty.
My wife's pretty upset...as apparently she knew soon after bringing her home...she came into the kitchen awhile ago, crying...
Apparently my wife has developed an allergic reaction to whatever...she gets hives that itch like crazy wherever Lily touches her skin...even got some through her pant leg. She was thinking maybe just the claws...and I wondered if it was the litter. She has allergies to a pile of things...couldn't keep straw for the dogs when we had dogs...no real Christmas trees...I do the gardening...I wonder if Stephen King could make my wife non-allergic to Lily? Was looking forward to making her a post, shelves on it, cover it w/rug material...so on so forth. Like my post. Bummer.
Crazy thing is she has had cats before...family had Tangy for 22 years, no problemo...she wasn't allergic to the dogs...so baring some sort of reversal or whatever...looks like we will bringing Lily back to the spay & neuter group. The search engines aren't much help...looked there. She had this test done this once down in Marquette...doc pricks her skin about a hundred times, so on so forth. There's even some skin lotions she's allergic...some ingredient in most lotions.
Could be worse I guess...could be better, too.
Good luck to your wife Walter - that's a shameLooks like we might not be able to keep the new kitty.

She may have brought something over on her fur from the foster home. A good bath will at least give her a chance to stay with you. I would think you would see if that worked within a day or two.She was found something like six weeks ago...and she'd been in a foster home until Saturday. We've made arrangements to bring her back to the foster home...the people there were sad to see her go...and I imagine they'll be happy to see her return. Sometimes the answer is no. We've a niece who grew up w/dogs...is now married w/a child...they tried to bring a dog into that family and turns out the niece is now allergic. Crazy how the world works sometimes.

This is my Jinxie-cat. I just took this, he decided a basket full of clean sockies looked like an inviting bed.
Jinxie-cat is beautiful. Great name for a black cat btw.View attachment 222
